Packing List for Your Flying Dress Photoshoot in Aruba

Your “Main Character” Checklist, without the chaos

So, you’ve booked a Flying Dress Aruba photoshoot, iconic behaviour. Now let’s make sure you arrive calm, prepared, and ready to eat up every single frame.

This is not a “bring everything including the kitchen sink” situation. This is a “pack smart, feel confident, look expensive” situation.

The Golden Rule

If it helps you feel comfortable, confident, and unbothered by the wind, bring it.

The Essentials (do not skip these)

1) Water

Aruba is hot, the dresses are beautifully dramatic, and yes, it’s basically a mini workout disguised as luxury. Hydrate like the goddess you are.

Pro tip: Bring a small bottle you can sip between shots, it keeps energy up and prevents the “why do I suddenly feel faint” moment.

2) Nude underwear or bottoms that match your dress

These dresses often have high splits, Aruba has strong trade winds, and the wind has absolutely no respect for anyone’s modesty.

Best options:

  • Nude seamless underwear

  • Nude bikini bottoms

  • Bikini bottoms that match your dress colour

Avoid: Patterns, neon, anything with thick seams, and anything that screams “I came unprepared”.

3) Strapless bra, stick on bra, or pasties

Our dresses are adjustable “transformer” style, which means we can style them in different ways, but a regular bra usually won’t play nicely.

Choose your comfort level:

  • Pasties, if you want the lightest option

  • Stick on bra, if you want shape without straps

  • Strapless bra, if you’re doing a style that supports it (certain wraps)

There is no award for suffering. Comfort equals confidence, confidence equals better photos.

The “You’ll thank me later” list

4) Hair kit: Aruba-proof edition

The breeze is gorgeous for movement shots, less gorgeous when it turns your hair into a bird’s nest.

Bring:

  • Bobby pins, a hair tie, claw clip

  • Mini brush or comb

  • Extra-strong hold hairspray

  • A little smoothing serum or anti frizz product

Tip: Hair down looks stunning, hair half-up often survives better. We can work with both, the goal is “effortless”, not “wrestled by nature”.

5) Makeup touch-up mini kit

Humidity is not your enemy, but it is nosy.

Bring:

  • Blotting papers or powder

  • Lipstick for top-ups

  • Small mirror

  • Setting spray, if you use it

If you cry easily: waterproof mascara, because empowerment is emotional and we support that.

6) Footwear that won’t sabotage you

Most of the shoot is barefoot, but you still need something practical to walk in.

Bring:

  • Flat sandals or slides

  • Something easy to kick off quickly

Skip stilettos unless you want a “woman vs sand” documentary.

7) Phone essentials

Bring:

  • Your phone (obviously)

  • A portable charger, beach batteries die fast

  • Your booking details saved or screenshot

  • Your playlist (more on that below)

Signal can be patchy on some beaches, so screenshots are your best mate.

If your shoot is at the beach (or you want a post-shoot dip)

8) Swimwear + towel

If you’re shooting at Rodgers Beach (or any of our other beautiful beaches) you’ll probably want to cool off after, it’s the perfect little reward.

Bonus ideas if you make a morning of it:

  • Baby Beach after the shoot

  • Rum Reef infinity pool nearby, if you’re heading that way

Bring your swimsuit and lean into the full “I came to Aruba to feel alive” energy.

The fun bits that secretly make the photos better

9) A playlist that flips the switch

Music changes everything. It helps you relax, get into rhythm, and stop overthinking what your face is doing.

Pick songs that make you feel:

  • Confident

  • Playful

  • Powerful

  • Slightly dangerous (in a good way)

If you need inspiration, make a “Main Character Aruba” playlist and go full cinematic. There's a link below to some of my personal favorite uplifting tunes for all types of occasions... Survival, healing after heartbreak, girl power and many more!

10) One small personal item (optional, but cute)

Not props, we’re not doing arts and crafts. Just something meaningful if it fits your vibe:

  • A statement piece of jewellery

  • Sunglasses for a few shots

  • A birthday sash, only if you want that energy

If it distracts from you, leave it in the bag.

What NOT to bring (save your arms)

  • Big tote bags stuffed with everything you own

  • Valuable jewellery you’ll stress about

  • Anything that stains easily, Aruba + sunscreen + sweat is a combo

  • A bad attitude, the wind will sense it

Quick confidence reminders (read this twice)

  • You do not need to “know how to pose”. That’s literally our job.

  • You do not need to “lose weight first”. Absolutely not, we love your curves.

  • You do not need to "be confident". You just need to show up.

Your only assignment is to arrive, breathe, and let yourself be looked after.
