So… you’ve booked your flying dress photoshoot in Aruba (yay!), or you’re seriously thinking about it. Either way, we’ve got you covered.
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, traveling solo, or just craving that main-character moment on a Caribbean beach, this guide will help you prepare so you feel confident, relaxed, and ready to shine.
At Flying Dress Aruba, we’ve helped thousands of women look and feel amazing in front of the camera and here’s everything we recommend before your big shoot.

🕒 1. Choose a Morning Session if You Can
The lighting is softer, the beaches are quieter, it's not too hot and the breeze is usually perfect. Plus, you can enjoy the rest of your day knowing you’ve already nailed your photos.
Of course, we do love golden hour too, but morning-time is when you get the bright aqua blue water that Aruba is famous for.

👗 2. Pick Your Dress Color Intentionally
Think about your vibe, your skin tone, and the mood you want to create. Some client faves:
Red: Bold, powerful, and iconic
Yellow: Sunshine goddess energy
Ivory: Timeless and elegant
Royal blue: Compliments Aruba’s sea perfectly
Hot pink: Fun, flirty, and feminine
Need help deciding? We’re always happy to guide you during the booking process or DM us on Instagram for real-life examples.

💄 3. Go for Camera-Ready Makeup (But Keep It Aruba-Proof)
We recommend waterproof mascara, soft matte foundation, and setting spray to keep you photo-fresh, even if it’s hot and breezy.
Once you've booked a session with us you will receive contact details, included in the confirmation email, for a talented local make up artist that you are always welcome to reach out to if you wish you hire someone professionally for your hair and makeup on the day.

💨 4. Secure Your Hair (Without Hiding It)
Aruba’s wind is beautiful but strong! Bring a few hair ties, bobby pins, and maybe a small clip or headband. Loose waves, braids, or a high ponytail all work great. I personally love a flower clip positioned just above the ear to give your look a tropical flair!
Bonus tip: Detangler and a wide-tooth comb post-shoot = lifesaver.

🧴 5. Pack These Essentials in a Small Beach Bag
Reef-safe sunscreen
Hairbrush or detangler
Loose clothing to slip in and out of
Bobby pins and extra hair ties
Water bottle
Lip gloss or touch-up powder
Flip-flops (you’ll be barefoot during the shoot, but they’re handy before and after!)
Swimwear and a beach towel... It's always a good idea to take a refreshing dip in the sea after your beach photoshoot session... You're in the Caribbean after all!
And if you’ve booked with Flying Dress Aruba, don’t stress... Our team brings everything you need to feel supported and pampered.

📸 6. Practice a Few Poses — Or Don’t. We’ve Got You.
Worried you won’t know what to do in front of the camera? That’s totally normal!
We provide a free posing guide before your session and coach you every step of the way.
Our mission is to help you look your best while feeling like your most confident self.

💖 7. Trust the Process & Enjoy the Moment
Remember: this is about YOU. Your story. Your strength. Your joy.
Let go of perfection and step into the magic. The wind, the dress, the island... it all comes together to create something unforgettable.
